As far as exactly what caused it, who knows? I assume you were running in a 'pure' DOS mode as opposed to a DOS window? Were you running the RIB on battery-only, or with the A/C supply as well? The pins on your programming cable show any dirt/oxidation on them? How about the pins in the mic jack of the radio? It only takes a few milliseconds of interruption during the write cycle to have it happen. ![]() I figured it would, since it seemed to be an obvious case of codeplug corruption. Got a copy of mtsx lab 3.02.00, did exactly what wavetar said and bingo! radios back, now it reads and writes fine with my RSS who knows what the problem was. Hit 'F8-write to radio' and your packed MCS2000 codeplug will be forced into the radio. Ignore the 'codeplug too new' error, and go into the 'read/write with no pack/unpack' screen. If not, looks like a trip to the depot is in order. Hit F8-write to radio and your packed MCS2000 codeplug will be. If all goes well, your radio will be revived. You will need to read the saved codeplug with MTSX LAB 3.02.00 (latest version floating around in cyberspace, I think). Ok here is a list of Motorola software for reading and writing to the Radio's I didnt sort this list cause i wanted to show how much radio software is really out there.
